We’re supporting a highly respected London Market insurer that’s investing heavily in risk excellence. They’re known for being collaborative, commercially minded and genuinely supportive—an environment where risk isn’t a tick-box exercise, but a core part of decision-making.

They’re now looking for an experienced Senior Risk Manager to take a central role in maintaining, developing and embedding their Risk Management Framework across the business. If you enjoy working closely with senior underwriters, operations, and leadership teams—and want true visibility—this is a great opportunity.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll working across the full breadth of operational and enterprise risk. Your work will include:

  • Keeping the Risk Management Framework current, effective and aligned to business strategy.
  • Ensuring the risk universe, risk register and controls remain accurate, up to date and reflective of the business’s evolving risk profile.
  • Leading and coordinating risk and control assessments with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Monitoring, interpreting and reporting Key Risk Indicators, helping the business understand what really matters.
  • Investigating and escalating risk incidents, losses and near misses—and ensuring lessons translate into meaningful action.
  • Preparing engaging, high-quality reports and materials for committees, working groups, and external stakeholders.
  • Playing a hands-on role in ORSA development, Internal Model review, validation and assurance exercises.
  • Supporting key deliverables such as stress & scenario testing and ESG/climate-related risk analysis.

This is a role with real variety and impact—ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical depth of risk and the relationship-building side of influencing a busy organisation.

What we’re looking for
  • At least 5 years’ Risk Management experience in the Lloyd’s or London Market.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders across underwriting, operations and leadership teams.
  • Experience with ERM platforms (Decision Focus or similar).
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid understanding of prudential requirements (Lloyd’s, PRA, Solvency II/UK).
  • Strong MS Office skills and the ability to turn data into insight.
