ESG / Sustainability Manager

Location: Stourbridge (Permanent)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Package
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an ESG / Sustainability Manager to take ownership of BREEAM and the expanding range of ESG requirements across the business.

This is a key role within the organisation, offering autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to shape and implement ESG strategy across live projects and future tenders.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing, developing, and delivering the company’s ESG commitments, ensuring compliance, best practice, and clear reporting to clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing BREEAM requirements across projects

  • Carbon reduction strategy, monitoring, and Net Zero Carbon (NZC) reporting

  • Planning, monitoring, and reporting Social Value commitments

  • Waste monitoring, reporting, and reduction initiatives

  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation and advising on upcoming regulatory changes

  • ESG reporting and client presentations pre-contract and during live projects

  • Developing and implementing company-wide ESG policies and procedures

  • Liaising with the supply chain to ensure ESG alignment and compliance

  • Obtaining and maintaining ESG-related accreditations (e.g. Planet Mark)

  • Coordinating charity initiatives, community engagement, presentations, and work experience programmes

About You
  • Proven experience in ESG, Sustainability, Environmental, or BREEAM-related roles within construction or the built environment

  • Strong understanding of carbon reporting, compliance, and ESG frameworks

  • Confident engaging with clients, project teams, and supply chain partners

  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple requirements simultaneously

  • Able to work autonomously and influence positive change across a business
