Material Science Technician

• Location: Middlesbrough
• Job Type: Temporary Contract with the potential to go permanent
• Pay Rate: £12.30 per hour - £13.50

We are recruiting for a Material Science Technician to join our client's team on a temporary to permanent basis. This role is crucial in helping to reduce the global environmental footprint by assisting in the development of green construction materials. 

Day-to-day of the role:

• Assist in completing scientific testing and production to ensure projects are delivered on time.
• Work closely with experts from various departments to foster knowledge-sharing and teamwork as we work toward a common goal.
• Prepare and test samples according to client or company-specified methods.
• Ensure our research and products stay reliable by accurately recording and maintaining laboratory data in our systems.
• Help sustain a safe, efficient, and high-standard workspace by following our lab housekeeping processes.
• Support seamless operations by managing stock levels and ensuring materials and supplies are always available.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A degree in Chemistry or Material Science or a related discipline
• Proficient using Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• General lab/warehouse/site housekeeping
• Ability to carry out manual lifting
• Full UK driver's licence, proficient to drive a 3.5T van.
• Experience in a research laboratory setting (preferred but not essential).
• Understanding of scientific principles and methodologies
